Who we are

Local planners, not a call-center itinerary

Serendib Journeys is a Colombo-based tour operator built by guides who grew up between the tea hills and the southern coast. We don't sell fixed package tours off a shelf — every itinerary is drawn up around your pace, your interests, and the season.

Every trip is delivered with a private, air-conditioned vehicle, a dedicated English-speaking chauffeur guide, and a local specialist on call for the length of your stay — from the moment you land at Bandaranaike International to the moment you fly home.

Traveler reviews

What guests say after they land back home

"Our guide adjusted the whole hill country leg on day two because of rain — nothing felt rigid. Sigiriya at sunrise with almost nobody else there was worth the 5am start alone."

R&M
Rachel & MarcusHill Country & Tea Trails, March 2025

"Two safaris in Yala, two different tracker teams, both spotted leopards. Our driver knew every ranger by name. This was the trip that made me stop booking package holidays for good."

DK
Daniela K.Southern Coast & Wildlife, August 2024

"Booked the 12-day Grand Ceylon three weeks before travel. They still fit us into a small guesthouse in Ella we'd specifically asked about. Small touches like that added up."

Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to visit Sri Lanka?

Sri Lanka has two monsoon systems, so there's a good coast almost year-round. December–March suits the west and south (beaches, Yala, Sigiriya); May–September suits the east coast (Trincomalee, Arugam Bay). The hill country is pleasant most of the year but coolest and clearest January–March.

Do I need a visa to enter Sri Lanka?

Most nationalities need an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) before arrival, applied for online. We send exact instructions and current requirements for your nationality once you book, since rules do change.

What's included in the tour price?

Private transport with driver-guide, fuel and parking, accommodation at the category you choose, daily breakfast, and all entrance fees listed in the itinerary. International flights, visas, personal spending, and meals not specified are excluded and quoted separately.

Is Sri Lanka safe for tourists?

Yes — Sri Lanka is consistently rated among the safer destinations in South Asia for travelers. As anywhere, we recommend standard precautions with valuables and follow official travel advisories for your home country before booking.

Can you plan a trip for a family with young children?

Regularly — we adjust pacing, driving distances, and hotel choice (pools matter more than heritage plaques) for families. Let us know ages when you enquire and we'll build around them.
